Do I need a prescription to buy shoes at your store?
No; anyone can be fitted with shoes without a prescription.
Modifications to shoes that affect a person`s biomechanics of gait must
always be done by prescription. Over the counter supports and foot care
products may be obtained without a prescription but are often
prescribed. Custom Foot Orthotics are only made by prescription.
Are my prescribed shoes and or orthotics covered by
my insurance plan?
Some insurance plans cover prescribed pedorthic footwear, some only
cover modified (customized) footwear that is modified to the extent
that only that individual is able to wear that shoe, some plans only
cover custom made shoes (shoes that are made over a positive model of
that individual`s foot) and some plans do not cover shoes at all.
It is always wise to check your plan before coming to be fitted. We do
not direct bill private insurance plans.
Are your shoes affordable?
Yes. Many first-time customers remark that our shoes are quite
affordable.
What brands do you carry?
We carry, in-stock, some important “House Brands” such as Kumfs New
Zealand, Drew Shoes and Comfort-Rite Shoes. These are specialty shoes
that meet our requirements for support, function, Fit and style. Other
leading brands are New Balance, Dunham, Brooks, Xsensible (The
Stretchable Shoe) and Bonnie Stuart and Stride Rite for infants. We are
frequently complimented on the styles and colours of many of ourn
shoes, particularly the Kumfs and Xsensibles brands. |
